This patient with a history of alcohol abuse had anemia. Her RBC were macrocytic and slightly hypochromic; in addition, she had elevated liver enzymes and a normal serum ferritin concentration. The reticulocyte count was 84.4 x 109/L (2.9 %) and is shown as case “Reticulocytes Neonate”.
