RBC Indices and Extended RBC Parameters Core Course

Overview

The Red Blood Cells Core Course provides student with an overview of erythropoiesis, review traditional and advanced RBC indices & parameters and their clinical utility, and preanalytical variables and interfering substances affecting RBC count and indices. It is intended to serve the basic educational needs of healthcare professionals who are involved in the fields of laboratory medicine.

 

Course Duration

Section 1 | Red Blood Cells and Erythropoiesis

Review the morphology and life cycle of RBCs and explore the structure and function of hemoglobin. Explore the maturation stages in RBC development and the use of the traditional RBC indices.
